Dalonte Hill is schedule to appear on May 14th in Anne Arundel County District Court regarding his DUI charge from January 19th.  Hill was pulled over on his 33rd birthday and accused of being under the influence of alcohol. Hill reportedly told officers at the time that he had consumed “three beers at a club earlier in the evening.

Hill was suspended for two games following the incident by Maryland Terrapins basketball coach, Mark Turgeon. Per a report by the Baltimore Sun, he will also lose his license for 90 because he declined to take a breathalyzer test at the time of his arrest.  Pending the outcome of his trial, Hill could lose his license for up to six months.

Hill has an additional, 2008 DUI charge on his record  from his time as an assistant coach at Kansas State. The charge was expunged from his record following a DUI intervention treatment course.

Hill had been recruited away from Kansas State by coach Mark Turgeon, who only recently took control of the University of Maryland basketball team. This is the first year at Maryland for both men.  Based on his recruiting prowess, Hill is one of the highest paid assistant coaches in college basketball.

Having served his two game suspicion, Hill was back on the Maryland bench for their game against local rival, Virginia Tech, a game, incidentally that the Terps narrowly won.

No doubt Hill hopes for the same luck come may when he appears in court on his DUI charge.
