Springfield resident, Varinder Chahal was involved in an accident in downtown Richmond on February 21st that injured one Virginia Commonwealth University student and killed another. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI (he declined to take a blood or breath test at the time of the accident) as well as felony manslaughter. These initial charges have been set aside and Chahal new faces a new charge of aggravated manslaughter in relation to the accident. If convicted he could face up to 20 years in prison.
