Out Of Control Car

In Augusta County, Virginia, two teenagers lept from their speeding Mazda Protege to safety after their brakes failed. The car reached speeds of up to 100mph on I-81 but slowed to 30mph before they jumped for their lives. A Virginia State Trooper was able to nose the abandoned car into a median, bringing it to a stop. The driver suffered minor injuries and the passengar escaped unharmed.

Truck Breeches Bridge, Dangles Over Water, Ties Up Traffic for Hours

Truck driver, Almira Ribicm, is accused of losing control of her tractor trailer, which hit the median of the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge, burst into flames and was stuck hanging over the edge for hours. She was charged with Reckless Driving. More than 150 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the highway, but most of it had evaporated before dripping down to the water below. There was no major damage to the bridge.
